5. Temple

- Few days skip -

In Kerala.

After landing to cochin international airport, they all get in a taxi and went to resort which they booked.

After getting into their room, they quickly freshened up and slept straight for 11 hours.

They woke up directly in the afternoon. Now, Parth was the one trying to wake them up.

"Abe o, Kumbhkarano! Get up, we have to go somewhere," he said, snatching away their blankets.

(Kumbhkarano is a man who used to sleep a lot, according to the mythology)

Samksh opened his eyes slightly to see who was shouting, then closed them again to go back to sleep. Karan didn’t even budge from his place.

Parth tapped on Karan’s shoulder—clearly a wrong move, because in no time, he was crushed beneath him. Karan, still half-asleep, was stretching his hands while sitting on Parth’s stomach, ready to throw punches.

"Abe o! My Major Karanvir Singh Dhillon, control yourself. I’ll die! Get off me!" Parth yelled.

Sighing, Karan got off him and stood up with a small nervous smile. Parth sat on the bed, rubbing one hand over the other, glaring at him.

"C’mon, get up you both. We have to go to a temple. I heard it looks even more beautiful at night," Parth suggested.

The trio got ready for the temple. They were now in a taxi heading toward Chottanikkara Bhagavathy Temple

On the way, Samksh looked tense. He kept checking his phone from time to time.

---

Samksh’s POV (In his mind):

Did she leave? I hope she reaches safely. God, please save me from his wrath. If he finds out she’s coming and I already knew… I’m dead.

---

Flashback...

While I was getting ready, I got a call from Karan’s mother. I picked up.

"Yoo, Mom!"

"Haan haan, listen to me."

"Yes, I’m listening," I said while applying cologne, looking in the mirror.

"I’m coming to cochin," she dropped the bomb on me.

"Whattt??!"

"Yes, I’m coming. And don’t tell this to Karan."

"B—" Before I could say anything, she hung up the call.

Yaar aunty, aap mujhe fasa ke hi manegi.

Author’s POV:

Samksh came back to his senses when Parth told him to get out of the car.

They entered the temple, removed their shoes, joined their hands, and covered their heads with scarves.

Parth suddenly stopped the other two.

"Abe..."

They both looked at him.

"I forgot the thaal. Let me go get it," he said and hurried back.

"Thank God he remembered. Otherwise, we would've had to walk all the way back," Samksh said.

"Yes, our kid is growing," Karan said, glancing at Samksh.

Samksh crossed his arms over his chest and said, "Abe! What do you mean by our?"

"Our means OUR," Karan teased him further.

Suddenly, the soft sound of anklets echoed in the temple, fading the world’s chaos for Karan. A soft, gentle breeze brushed against his cheeks and blew his hair back.

Just as he was about to turn around, someone’s shoulder bumped into his.

He looked behind and saw a girl in a saree, holding her pleated skirt slightly as she ran. Her eyes were beautifully lined with kajal, her long hair flowed with the breeze, and a gajra was tucked in—she looked no less than a goddess.

Karan’s mouth dropped open. He was awestruck by her beauty.

The girl looked at him for a moment and whispered a small "Sorry", then continued running in another direction.

The whole moment felt like a romantic movie scene—she was the lead of his story.

He kept staring at her fading figure.

---

"Tujhe dekha toh yeh jaana sanam~

Pyaar hota hai deewana sanam~

Ab yaha se kaha jaaye hum,

Teri baahon mein mar jaaye hum~"

(Song~ Tujhe dekha toh ye Jana sanam)

Samksh and Parth started singing dramatically, pulling Karan back to reality.

"Nothing like that," Karan mumbled, blushing and flustered.

His friends didn’t stop teasing him.

After completing their pooja and attending the aarti, the three stood at the back near a small stage.

That’s when Karan’s eyes caught sight of her again.

She was now surrounded by a group of small children, teaching them dance moves.

She taught them some steps and was doing chakra, but her foot stumbled and she was about to fall down from the stage, but a hand caught her and pulled her to him, snaking his hand to her waist.

His nostrils were filled with the smell of mogras and roses. From a distance, she was gorgeous, but by closer look she looked so eternal.

Her eyes were closed by the sudden moment, but feeling nothing, she opened her eyes and saw the same guy standing in front of her, tall, handsome, fair skin, silky hair, light stubble, pinkish lips, his short hair and muscular figure.

If he wants, then he can pull any other girl. She was looking at him with the same gaze as his. Her hands were resting on his biceps. She could feel his muscular body.

They were lost in each other's eyes, but the reality hit when the mandir's bell rang. They both leave each other, She left from there with slight red cheeks, He also rub his nape andp look at his friends shyly who were teasing him with a smirk. Now the whole ride he was going to blush and embarrassed.
